Multi-factor authentication, patching and a tested backup cover most practical risk for a growing business.
First, require multi-factor authentication on anything reachable from the Internet — email, remote access, finance systems and administrative accounts. Passwords alone are the most common way in.
Second, keep devices patched. Laptops, phones, firewalls and cameras all run software; the ones nobody updates become the easiest target on the network.
Third, test a restore. A backup that has never been restored is an assumption. Restore something real, time it, and write down how long the business would be down.
If you do nothing else this quarter, do these three. They are inexpensive relative to the risk they remove.

Small, constant interruptions cost more staff time than the occasional outage everyone remembers.
Look for repetition, clear inputs and a reviewable output — that is where automation pays.
